Queens of Eve: Sacred Standards will teach the Love Notes 4.2 sexual risk avoidance curriculum to 900 youth ages 10-19 in Sacramento County over two years through weekly sessions and referral support. - Queens of Eve: Sacred Standards is Queens of Eve’s proposed Title V Competitive Sexual Risk Avoidance Education project designed to serve youth ages 10 through 19 throughout Sacramento County, California. Queens of Eve is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that will provide programming in the City of Sacramento, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights, and unincorporated areas of Sacramento County. The project will serve 450 youth annually, with focused outreach to youth attending Title I traditional, alternative, and continuation schools and youth who may experience increased vulnerability to adverse health, social, and educational outcomes, including youth who are justice-involved, homeless or unstably housed, pregnant or parenting, or involved in foster care. Sacred Standards responds to the need for accessible, medically accurate, developmentally appropriate education that equips adolescents with the knowledge, skills, and support necessary to reduce sexual risk behaviors and make healthy decisions that contribute to their long-term well-being. The project will address factors that can increase young people’s vulnerability to unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, unhealthy relationships, sexual coercion, dating violence, substance use, and other behaviors that can interfere with educational, personal, and future goals. Programming will emphasize positive youth development, personal responsibility, healthy decision-making, future planning, goal setting, healthy relationships, resistance to sexual coercion and dating violence, avoidance of alcohol and drugs, and refraining from nonmarital sexual activity. Queens of Eve will implement The Dibble Institute’s Love Notes 4.2, Abstinence-Only Federal Version, using the middle-school adaptation for younger participants and the standard high-school/young-adult version for older youth. The project is designed to strengthen participants’ knowledge, decision-making skills, relationship skills, personal responsibility, and ability to establish and pursue healthy educational and life goals. Ultimately, Sacred Standards will equip Sacramento County youth with practical tools and supportive learning experiences that help them avoid sexual risk behaviors, build healthy relationships, and make informed decisions that protect their health and future opportunities.
