Brighter Futures Project seeks to empower Wyoming's youth in and aging out foster care/court-involved youth to achievetheir optimal health through SRAE and Positive Youth Development strategies. - The Brighter Futures Project will provide evidence-based Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) and Positive Youth Development (PYD) opportunities to Wyoming youth ages 10–19 who are in foster care or transitioning from care and youth who are adjudicated or court-involved. In partnership with Goodwill Independent Living Services and Vicarious Reflections Counseling, Wyoming Families First will equip youth with skills in personal responsibility, self-regulation, healthy decision-making, healthy relationships, goal setting, and future orientation, with a primary emphasis on voluntarily refraining from nonmarital sexual activity. PYD activities, trusted-adult connections, and youth-led activities will reinforce positive competencies and protective factors. All participating youth will also receive universal education on human trafficking awareness, personal safety, help-seeking, and available community resources.
