Missouri SHIP - Missouri State Health Insurance Assistance Program (MO SHIP) will continue collaborating with local formal Community Partner organizations in this five-year project to strengthen and expand local networks, provide accessible SHIP service, and increase SHIP awareness and education. The goal is to increase the capability of the Missouri SHIP by building on 31 years of experience; MO SHIP will strengthen the current infrastructure for counseling, training, outreach, and collaborative partnership building. The objectives for this goal include: 1) Increase capacity to serve Missourians living in rural areas, non-English speakers, and individuals with disabilities; 2) Improve knowledge and experience for new and seasoned counselors and increase counselor satisfaction; 3) Enhance outreach and education activities to increase awareness, knowledge, and visibility among hard-to-reach beneficiaries; and 4) Increase the current capacity of Community Partners with volunteers, resources, and support. Expected outcomes include: 1) Increase or maintain recruitment and retention of volunteers; 2) Offer practical training to ensure certified, confident counselors; 3) Provide effective outreach; and 4) Allow Community Partners to maintain or expand their capacity to achieve SHIP goals. Expected outcomes include: 1) Increase reporting of counseling and outreach activities; 2) Expand counseling and outreach for hard-to-reach beneficiaries; 3) Enhance flexibility due to fully cross-trained staff (trainers, regional liaisons, central staff to allow for agile responses to changing environments; 4) Re-evaluate infrastructure for Contact Center, 5) Maintain SHIPtools Customer Relationship Management database system, 6) Enhance Facebook content management; 7) Maintain responsively designed, user-tested, 508-compliant, beneficiary-oriented website; and 8) Develop training materials and outreach materials including materials to address changing program rules, requirements or to improve effectiveness.
