Colorado SHIP 2025-2030 - Project Abstract The goal of the Colorado SHIP program administered by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Insurance will be to maintain a statewide network of local State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIP) dedicated to service, capacity building, innovation, and operational excellence to become the state’s primary source for unbiased Medicare counseling information and assistance. To make this goal possible, we will focus on four major objectives: service excellence, capacity building, innovation and operational excellence. In the area of Service Excellence, we will continue to provide accurate, and objective information and assistance. Our Capacity Building, during this grant period will consist of increasing the number of certified counselors and volunteers in the network by and partnering with various not-for-profit agencies. In the area of Innovation, we plan to increase our relationship with Medicare plans within the state and regularly disseminate performance reports. In the area of Operational Excellence, we will provide program orientation for new Agency Directors and Program Coordinators at sub-grantee agencies and provide feedback to sub-grantee agencies based on data entry results. During each year of project, the Colorado SHIP expects outcomes in the areas of increased media and outreach producing an effect of increase county penetration, an increase in recruitment of volunteers, and lower error rates for Part D Enrollment Outcomes (PDEO). Some of the products made by this project will be a joint effort by local and state level staff which will include, but are not limited to, flyers, community newsletters, media (radio, social media, television, and podcast), PowerPoint presentations, local television public service announcements and digital advertising.
