StatsRRTC - The University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability (UNH-IOD), in partnership with Mathematica, Kessler Foundation, the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD), and key stakeholders will, over the course of this five-year Center, advance the frontiers in the production and utilization of disability data and statistics to better inform policies and programs that influence the lives of people with disabilities. The goal of the Center is to produce positive change in the lives of people with disabilities. The target populations are people with disabilities and people seeking to produce and utilize disability data and statistics. The Center’s objectives are to (a) increase the quality, availability, and effective utilization of national disability data and statistics, (b) generate new knowledge to inform policies and programs, and (c) expand the capacity of the Center’s target population to collect, analyze, and interpret disability data and statistics, particularly with respect to the impact of the built and social environments. The expected activities and products are the Engaged Scholars Program, the extensive Annual Disability Statistics Collection, the Environmental Factors Data Infrastructure, the upgraded Disability Statistics Online Curriculum, five research studies, and an array of opportunities to engage with the Center’s research findings and investigators, including peer-reviewed articles, plain language briefs, conference and webinar presentations, in-person and on-line trainings, technical assistance services, social media posts, and other accessible web materials. The intended outcome is for people with disabilities and the disability community to realize their fundamental right to disability statistics that accurately represent their identities and accurately shape the programs and policies that influence their lives.
