National Resource Center on Native American Aging - The National Resource Center on Native American Aging (NRCNAA), housed within the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences, will build upon more than 30 years of partnership with Title VI programs and Tribal communities to advance community-informed research, education, technical assistance, and resource development that strengthen Native Elder services. The project expands this work by building Tribal research capacity, developing data-to-action resources, supporting grant readiness, and creating new educational tools and training opportunities. The project will: (1) strengthen knowledge of Native Elder health, well-being, and service needs through the Identifying Our Needs: A Survey of Elders, research partnerships, and sharing findings that help Title VI programs and Tribal communities plan, make informed decisions, and strengthen Native Elder programs and services; (2) enhance technical assistance, education, grant readiness, and resource development that help Title VI programs, Tribal communities, and Native Elder serving organizations develop, improve, expand, and sustain Native Elder programs and services; and (3) advance healthy aging and Native Elder caregiving through education, updated curricula, training, and resources that respond to community priorities. Working with Title VI programs, Tribal communities, and national organizations, the NRCNAA will develop data products, educational resources, practical tools, and guidance that support planning, program development, and service delivery. Expected outcomes include increased access to current Native Elder data, stronger planning and informed decision-making, stronger Native Elder programs and services, and increased collaboration among Title VI programs, Tribal communities, and national partners to support the health and well-being of Native Elders.
