My Sister's House (MSH) seeks to establish the Reducing Asian Pacific Islander Family Violence and Trauma Initiative (RAFT). The overarching goal of RAFT is to study respond to and reduce the presence of family violence including abuse and mistreatment faced by children adolescents teens adults and elders among Asian and Pacific Islanders (API) including Middle Eastern and Muslim survivors in the greater Sacramento Valley region. The mission of MSH is to support API and other underserved women and children impacted by domestic violence (DV) sexual assault (SA) and human trafficking by providing a culturally appropriate and responsive safe haven job training and community services. Established 2001 due to a gap in culturally specific services for historically underserved API survivors MSH has provided ongoing crisis services housing legal support counseling supportive services and employment training and support for women who are victims of DV and SA.
