The Victim-Centered Services in Northern Nevada with Special Attention to Native Americans project will provide services that are culturally relevant, evidence based and trauma informed. The overall goal is to serve the Native American/Alaskan Native population of Northern Nevada by helping individuals and families impacted by sexual assault, and dating, domestic and family violence to access essential health and human services. Specific activities and services provided through this funding will be, direct services (including temporary shelter, childcare, food, hygiene kits, clothing, utility assistance, bus passes), referral to preventative health care services, referrals to mental health counselor, outreach and prevention education, training for staff on how to serve victims of human trafficking and collaboration with local like-minded organizations.
