The project proposes to coordinate activities and resources with the private nonprofit Spanish Catholic Center in proposing a program to provide area Hispanic senior citizens with a daily program of activities and meals that will ensure access by Hispanic elderly to social services, activities, and a balanced lunch on a five day a week basis. The proposed program will ensure that the Spanish Catholic Center, in establishing a Senior Center program for area elderly Hispanics, is able to provide their clients with a nutritious, noonday meal. The meal will encourage participation by Hispanic elders in the daily program of activities and social services provided at the Spanish Catholic Center. It will also ensure that opportunities for good nutrition and nutritional habits are promoted. A licensed dietitian will ensure that individual nutritional counseling will be provided at the center to educate and inform clients.
