Comanche Nation Adult Protective Services (CN APS) 2025 - On behalf of the Comanche Nation Elderly Center, this letter serves to summarize the provision of Adult Protective Services (APS) for the current Title VI Grant recipients. Our objective is to prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation within our community while simultaneously raising awareness of these critical issues The following are our anticipated goals and objectives, aligned with the statutory purpose: • Service Expansion and Improvement: We aim to broaden and enhance services for tribal elders who are victims of various forms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. This includes facilitating the development of multidisciplinary elder justice activities to prevent, respond to, and address such issues effectively. • Community Education: Our initiative will address the prevalence of elder abuse in tribal communities by identifying the lack of culturally appropriate information and educational materials regarding elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. • Strengthening APS Codes: We will gather and disseminate information focused on strengthening existing tribal APS codes and developing new codes that adequately address and detect elder maltreatment within Indian Country. • Collaborative Efforts: We will engage in collaboration with other entities, including both state and tribal organizations, to identify trends, challenges, and barriers that hinder effective responses to elder abuse victims. • Training Development: We intend to develop training modules designed to enhance the detection and prevention of elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation within Indian Country. • Engagement with National Resources: We will seek to engage and collaborate with at least one ACL national resource center or aging network organization to access information and resources pertinent to the field of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation within Indian Country.
