FCCAA will implement a program designed to create a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) training program. The project will see at least one hundred individuals through the completion of the project. - Fayette County Community Action Agency, Inc. (FCCAA) will use $800,000 in CED funds to establish the FCCAA Care Workforce Initiative: Building Careers and Strengthening Communities in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The initiative will provide Personal Care Assistant (PCA) training to approximately 100 individuals and create a workforce pipeline for local personal care and home-care providers seeking to expand their services. The project will create 30 new, permanent full-time jobs. Positions will include a project manager, program assistant, and a PCA instructor, in addition to PCAs. Through FCCAA's Financial Opportunity Center and community partnerships, participants will have access to financial counseling, transportation assistance, employment services, career coaching, and workforce support designed to improve job retention and long-term economic self-sufficiency.
