Expansion of manufacturing business to create 30 full-time quality jobs in the rural community of Laurel County, a persistent poverty county, of which 75% will be filled by low-income individuals. - Kentucky Highlands Community Development Corporation (KHCDC) will use $800,000 in CED funds to extend a loan a manufacturer of precision metal components for the automotive, aerospace, and telecommunications industries located in Laurel County, Kentucky. CED funds will be used to purchase specialized equipment needed to fulfill three new production and assembly contracts that have been reshored to the United States. This project will create 30 new, full-time jobs. The new positions will offer employment opportunities in engineering, production, and assembly. KHCDC will partner with local workforce and social-service providers to identify and recruit individuals with low incomes. Employees will also receive on-site coaching, retention services, and economic mobility support to help employees succeed in their new roles.
