Vermont UCEDD Core Grant - Vermont UCEDD's mission is to provide collaborative education, support, research, and information sharing that ensures Vermonters with disabilities and their families can live their lives as they choose. We do this through commitments to: Partner with and support people with developmental disabilities, their families, service agencies, and communities; Promote valued life outcomes for people with disabilities of all ages, practices, and systems; and Serve as a bridge between our community and university programs. Goals: 1) We Teach interdisciplinary pre-service and continuing education, 2) We Support Vermont through effective services 3) We Study our work to learn and inform decisions, 4) We Share accessible information and resources, and 5) We Build an infrastructure to support our work. Each goal is achieved through measurable annual objectives in the following areas of emphasis: Education and early intervention, employment, health, assistive technology, housing, and quality assurance. Outcomes we expect to increase: 1) Knowledge and skills of people with disabilities, families, university students, and providers in disability studies, leadership, and other areas; 2) Number of people who use what they have learned in real-world settings; 3) Quality of life outcomes such as self-determination, health, and relationships for young children, youth, adults, and families; and 4) Influence of our work on systems and policies to ensure the rights of all people with disabilities. Products: Academic programs and courses, continuing education and training curricula, research and evaluation reports, journal articles, conference presentations, and accessible websites, marketing, and outreach materials.
