Milwaukee Partnership on Well-Being and Recovery (M-POWER) is a regional partnership program to improve well-being, family functioning, safety, and permanence for families of women with substance use disorders (SUDs) who are involved with or at risk of involvement with the child welfare system. The program will expand the existing partnership between the Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services (DMCPS) and Meta House (MH), a community-based agency providing SUD treatment for women and families. The partners will be collaborating to provide families with sober recovery housing, outpatient treatment, child and family services, and recovery support services all aimed at improving well-being for adults and children, safety, permanency, and family functioning. The program is based on the following evidence-based practices (EBPs): Recovery Housing, Gender-Responsive SUD Treatment, The Nurturing Program, Filial Therapy, Celebrating Families!, Motivational Interviewing, and Seeking Safety. MH's internal evaluation team is partnering with the experienced external evaluators at IMPACT to conduct a rigorous evaluation that includes a comparison group and to participate in the cross-site evaluation.
