National Center for Adoption Competent Mental Health Services will build collaborations between child welfare and mental health systems to enhance adoption competence of mental health providers. - Award to fund National Center for Adoption Competent Mental Health Services project through Adoption Opportunities discretionary grant funding. The purpose of this project is to work with state child welfare systems to build bridges with the mental health community and further develop and train mental health practitioners in issues related to separation, loss, grief and trauma. The goal is to develop strategies for making trauma-based competent mental health services consistently and comprehensively available throughout each state.
