The Chugachmiut "Strengthening Families to Prevent Child Abuse" grant serves the Alaska Native communities of Chenega, Port Graham, Tatitlek, and Nanwalek to enhance the Child Protection Program in the Tribal communities. The project follows the Strengthening Families approach to improve family strengths and reduce child abuse and neglect combined with the Positive Indian Parenting approach. In year three of the three-year grant, the project will provide prevention education through local engagement activities to reduce child abuse.
