Further Development, Refinement and Evaluation of the Online and Applied System for Intervention Skills Learning Management System - Behavior Technologies Consulting Organization, in conjunction with the University of Kansas Medical Center, our Advisory Board, and our consultants will, over the course of this two year project, fulling develop and integrate a within-system video review feature to ensure HIPAA/FERPA compliance, expand the content to match the current professional supervision requirements, and fully develop/deploy the supervision hours tracking feature. Using a Participatory Action Research model to fully include end-user feedback in the design and features, this program will include member from the autism community, professionals serving individuals with autism, and agencies that have a national perspective on autism services and building the behavior analyst workforce.
The overall goal of this project is to fully develop and test the Online and Applied System for Intervention Skills - Supervision (OASIS-S), an online platform designed to build professional capacity for individuals pursuing the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential to primarily to serve individuals impacted by autism spectrum disorders (ASD) addressing NIDILRR’s topic of both Community Living and Participation and Health and Functioning.
Goal 1: Improve the user interface and accessibility of the OASIS-S system Objective 1: Integrate feedback (navigation, access) from Phase I pilot testers (Modules 1-3) into the OASIS-S system; create a system guide for each level of user; Objective 2: Update remaining OASIS-S modules (Modules 4-23) to include optional within-system video model of skills, post-facto video review, feedback assignments, guidelines to include post-facto video review & the 5th edition tasklist, to include assessing the accessibility of OASIS-S materials for the visually impaired, Goal 2: Test for usability and feasibility n = 60 novel users; efficacy testing n=16 SSD Objective 3: Improve usability of the OASIS-S system with integrated video models, video review capabilities to include video compression, Objective 4: Iteratively test the updated OASIS-S system with new users to ensure adequate usability, functionality, and overall satisfaction with the OASIS-S system with post-factor video review in preparation of commercialization, Goal 3: Develop customer-facing materials Objective 5: Develop an intuitive customer facing website that is accessible to individuals with disabilities Objective 6: Ensure entire system is HIPAA/FERPA compliant, including the payment portal
Anticipated Outcomes: improvements in the user interface with the integration of additional features including video upload/download abilities and updates related to the BACB 5th Edition Task list. This will ensure a more seamless user experience and improved customer experience to ensure ease of use and improved functionality for end users. In addition, video compression will be added to ensure the platform is functional for customers in rural/remote areas. It is anticipated that the OASIS-S will be ready for commercialization post Phase II funding with high customer satisfaction and updated content to meet a growing need for increasing the provider workforce in rural and remote areas to serve individuals with ASD.
Expected Products: fully functioning cloud-based system with integrated video-feedback and supervision hours tracker/professional management system that will increase rural and underserved areas ability to attract/keep professionals equipped to provide evidence-based treatment to individuals impacted by autism and their families.
