AI progess monitor for dyslexic students on IEPs - KidvoKit will, in the course of this 6 month project, design and prototype an AI-powered progress monitoring tool for children with dyslexia. The goal of the AI Progress Monitor for IEPs is to improve educational outcomes for children with dyslexia on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by providing a streamlined way to track academic progress. The tool will support families and educators in understanding and addressing children’s unique learning needs by leveraging machine learning and large language models (LLMs) to consolidate complex, fragmented progress data from various assessments, IEP reports, and tests, organizing it into a clear, chronological format. Objectives include: 1) organizing and categorizing progress data from IEPs and assessments to focus on critical areas like decoding and reading fluency; 2) visualizing this data chronologically to highlight trends and benchmarks; and 3) generating AI-driven insights to identify strengths and areas requiring intervention. Anticipated Outcomes include improved educational engagement, with parents and educators better equipped to track and respond to each child’s progress. Additionally, the tool is expected to foster more timely and tailored interventions, enhancing the child’s academic development. Products will include: 1) an AI tool that organizes and visualizes progress data; 2) reports for use in IEP meetings; and 3) user-friendly, insightful graphs that promote understanding of the child’s learning journey.
