FLON will target 5,550 students,grades 5-12 to participate in the Young Leaders of Distinction & YouLEAD projects at schools and other sites in Counties of Dallas, Denton, Johnson, Kauffman & Tarrant. - Young Leaders of Distinction (YLOD) and YouLEAD - Leaders and Entrepreneurs Association of Dreamers programs. The programs are a part of FLON’s Pursuing MY Dreams EAGLES Club Project. The primary population consists of scholars in grades 512 (ages 10-19), while the secondary population includes parents, caregivers, relatives, and other caring adults who reinforce positive youth development, support and reinforce the importance of their scholar making healthy choices for healthy pathways and plans for the future. Community Partnerships to Teach the Target Young People (Scholars) Programming is implemented in partnership with public schools, charter schools, community based organizations, youth-serving agencies, and parks and recreation centers. Caring Adults Network, a part of the F.A.M.I.L.Y. CARE Project. FLON staff provides informational sessions and educational resources for parents, caring adults, and other influential adults, including relatives, teachers, youth leaders, faith-based leaders, and community-based organizations. These collaborative efforts strengthen protective factors, reinforce positive youth development, and support healthy outcomes for young people. Adult Preparation Subjects (APS): FLON delivers all six required Adult Preparation Subjects (APS) through evidence-based curricula, evidence-informed curricula, and supplemental educational resources. For the C-PREP project, Future Leaders Outreach Network (FLON) implements a comprehensive Five-Tier Community Saturation Model designed to equip scholars in grades 512 with the knowledge, skills, support systems, and opportunities needed to make healthy decisions and successfully transition into adulthood.
