"Developing the Nursing Home Workforce through the NLN" will recruit LPNs and RNs and provide financial incentives to them to work in nursing home settings for 3 years. - This project, Developing the Nursing Home Workforce through the NLN, will be led by the National League for Nursing, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Washington, DC. The goal of this project is to recruit licensed practice/vocational nurses and registered nurses to seek employment and work in nursing homes for a minimum of three years after nursing program graduation. We aim to recruit 1,360 nurses for this project. Project outcomes include building a webpage for project promotion and recruitment of both nurses and nursing homes, producing two recruitment videos, designing a project pamphlet, developing two webinars focused on resume building and interview skills training, and establishing a learning and diffusion network with quarterly webinars focused on best practices for recruiting nurses to work in nursing homes and additional webinars to promote nurse retention. Funds will be used to achieve the project outcomes and pay financial incentives (up to $50,000 per nurse) to project participants. We are requesting a total budget of $70,538,881 over 5 years.
