Coptic Orthodox Church is pleased to present to CDC this application CDC-RFA-GH22-2209 in support of the sustainable Implementation of high quality, comprehensive and sustainable HIV services programs in Faith-based and Private Sites in Nairobi and Vihiga counties to attain UNAIDS 95-95-95. Coptic brings together years of experience implementing innovative approaches and best practices in HIV programming in Nairobi, Siaya and Vihiga, with a dedication to capacity building of Health Care Workers, strengthening institutional capacity, collaborations, partnerships and engagements. With this grant we will use our experience in management of PEPFAR funds to strengthen implementation of quality and integrated HIV programs within our faith-based health facilities. We will collaborate with faith communities, county government, civil society organizations, NACC, NASCOP, private institutions, Local and international universities and other stakeholders to strengthen sustainability and eventual transition.
We will scale up quality HIV prevention, care and treatment services through person centered case finding approaches and linkage to treatment of PLHIV, person-centered optimal ART and prevention of co-morbidities including TB, Implement comprehensive PMTCT interventions, provide HIV prevention services to target populations (KP/PP/GP), optimize Lab diagnostic and networks and enhance documentation and reporting. We aim to strengthen accessibility of services to difficult to reach and unreached populations in informal settlements addressing the unique health needs of PLHIV, KP, PP, AGYW,OVC, Men, PBFW and general population with population specific, age and gender appropriate interventions.
Coptic will scale up impactful digital heath technology innovations for enhancing appointment reminders and patient tracking, service provision, laboratory results management, improving data collection and use of dashboards for monitoring program performance. This will include utilizing available applications and online platforms including mLab, KenyaEMR, USHAURI, AfyaSTAT, Metabase, ADT and NimeConfirm
Coptic has a robust leadership and this has enabled management of PEPFAR/USG funds worth over 55 Million USD since 2004 and reached more than 33,000 PLHIV with comprehensive HIV prevention and care services in Nairobi, Vihiga and Siaya Counties. Our robust finance systems ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, and fund accountability. We have well-developed policy manuals in Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, inventory management, Risk Management, Health and Safety, Travel & Security and Grant management among others fostering accountability. We use Navision system for procurement, finance and HR management. Coptic will enforce internal controls to enhance financial stewardship and administrative/Operations best practices including regular internal and annual external financial compliance audits in all administrative functions and reports will be submitted to donors and board of directors.
Coptic has an established organizational structure governed by Board of directors, PI, Directors, Managers and service delivery staff which help to implement the HIV services. To manage and implement this grant Coptic will be led by a talented and key personnel including: His Grace Bishop Paul, Principal Investigator; Mr. Gamal Gouda, Finance Controller; Dr. Andrew Nagy, Program Director/Business Official, Maged Magdy; Finance Director, Dr. Samah Sakr, Medical Director; Dr. Mary Nderitu, Care & Treatment Lead; Allan Mungai, Lab Lead; Patrick Ndeda, Prevention Lead; Richard Ngomoa, M&E Lead; Dr. Charles Kibaara, HSS Lead. These experienced staff will promote efficiency, ensuring rapid decision-making and program implementation.
