Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) is submitting this SAMHSA System of Care Expansion and Sustainability Grant request for $10,598,585 over four years, to support our work to strengthen Rhode Island's Behavioral Health System of Care for children and youth, birth through age 21, with serious emotional disturbances (SED) and their families. RI's existing services for children with SED now include a range of evidence-based and culturally competent diagnostic and evaluation services. The gaps in the system - and what this grant will fill - are unified Mobile Response and Stabilization Services and a Community-Based Intensive Care Program to ensure that children with SED and their families receive timely urgent and emergent care in the least restrictive settings, and adequate intensive services.
