The Superior Court of California, County of Solano's Dependency Drug Court (DDC) program uses evidence-based practices, which includes "Comprehensive Case Management," "Motivational Interviewing," and Tailored Treatment Plans". The DDC program employs culturally competent treatment practices. The target population includes non-violent adult male or female offenders of all ethnicities, who have substance abuse disorders and/or co-occurring disorders, who live in Solano County and who are involved in a dependency action with their children. The mission of the DDC program is to create a legal environment that promotes the participant's successful utilization of services in a non-adversarial setting by using evidence-based practices that are culturally competent with intensive court monitoring in order to keep participants engaged in substance abuse treatment. The primary goals and objectives of the DDC program are to address the participant's substance use and/or co-occurring disorders in order to achieve sobriety; address the participant's socioeconomic issues in order to integrate back into the community; and address the participant's relationships with family members in order to achieve reunification. This project will expand access and availability of services to a larger number of clients and enhance the DDC program by providing clients access to mental health services, which currently are nonexistent in Solano County. This project will provide a continuum of wraparound services that include mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, stable housing, access to transportation, vocational training, literacy and educational training, life skills, individual counseling, group counseling, anger management counseling, domestic violence counseling, direct case management, intensive judicial supervision, frequent and random drug testing, and aftercare services. As a result, all clients have the opportunity to achieve and maintain sobriety.
