Bomu hospital and Affiliated sites (Bomu) has successfully completed over ten years of the co-operative agreement with CDC. During the ten years, Bomu has progressed from providing care and treatment to providing the full range of HIV services including care and treatment, prevention, HTS, PMTCT, TB/HIV, PHDP, OVC, Differentiated Model of Care, PrEP, and Prevention for Key Populations. During this time, Bomu has collaborated with MOH on various occasions such as marking international days, planning RRIs, supporting activities and meetings, and provision of services which include but are not limited to HTS. In addition, we have collaborated with Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale Counties to provide HIV care and treatment services through satellite and outreach sites. Currently, Bomu offers a full range of HIV services at Bomu Hospital Changamwe, Bomu Likoni, Bomu Mariakani, Bomu Timboni, Bomu Wema, and Bomu Al-Walidayn as well as an outreach at Msengo in Kilifi County. Such collaboration has resulted in enabling access to a larger population of patients. Bomu has a total of over 21,000 active clients who are on ART and spread across the three counties.Bomu embarked on a new project this year with support from CDC and the County Government of Mombasa and established three sites for AGYW for the Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-Free, Mentored, Safe (DREAMS) program in five wards across the county namely, Airport ward, Port Reitz Ward, Kipevu Ward, Timbwani Ward, and Shanzu Ward. Bomu will continue with the DREAMS program in the next funding period in Mombasa County.In year four, Bomu will continue to collaborate and supplement activities planned by the County Department of Health as well as support them implement programs where in need. In addition to the provision of routine ART services, Bomu will focus on PNS as the primary testing modality in keeping with PEPFARs goal of focused testing for eligible clients. Furthermore, Bomu plans to focus on ac hieving viral suppression in 90% of Adolescents and Peditrics who are on ART and improve viral suppression for adults to 95%. A Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activity for the differentiated model of care and transition of patients to DTG will be conducted. This will help achieve stability of care in patients due to fixed dose regimen and reduced clinic appointments giving priority and focus to those with high viral loads, and adherence and psychosocial issues.Bomu started the journey of going paperless this year by rolling out IQ care at Bomu and affiliated sites. IQ care is fully implemented at two of the Bomu satellites, namely Bomu Al-Walidayn and Bomu Wema. Plans for completing this project are in place, and Bomu aims to achieve this in the first half of the new budget period for the remaining sites.
