For year two, funds will be used to provide direct services in Miami-Dade County, Florida starting September 30, 2013 until September 29, 2014. Services include the development of court-approved parenting plans that include time-sharing schedules for about 150 children whose custodial parents are simultaneously seeking child support establishment. Funds will also be used to provide advocacy, system support, and referrals for families with family violence indicators. Core project services will be provided at the Transit Village Building where the Child Support Enforecement Division, courtrooms, and mediation services are located. Mediation and child support hearings will be scheduled on the same date and location for participants. This one-stop concept will prevent families from making many trips to different offices at different dates and times, paying parking fees, and missing time out of work to access project services.
